Juan Ep, Rock the Bells, and Stuff

Ok as for Juan Ep. Guys here’s the deal. I feel STRONGLY that Juan Ep should be a focal point for Ciph and I. I love the podcast and am very proud of it (when we’re doing it). I also hope we can regain a weekly schedule for it. Fat Joe was recorded and like most Juan Eps, Ciph took it to edit a couple of things, and it is now in limbo. I am not trying to bury Ciph here as he is super busy and busts his ass, but y’all know Ciph is about his business (comedy and paid gigs) and Juan Ep is not super high priority. I do try to push for it when I can and plan on having a more serious convo with him about some sort of regular schedule.
I hate that we’re shitting on our regular and hardcore fans. I hope one day Juan Ep is our full time job.In the mean time I wish you guys could try to support the other stuff we do and if not–you will be alerted when Juan Ep is back. I really thought the Joe Crack ep would drop the day we recorded it but I should not have said anything in retrospect. Typical me. I will holler at Ciph about it manana.
This weekend I will be in LA and the Bay hosting Rock the Bells and hanging out. If any of you guys are coming out–let a Jew know. Sorry for the bullshit guys.
On the upside–it’s almost football time!

A few things:
1) Really, you shouldn’t be apologizing for the lack of Juan Ep. You guys are both grown men with busy schedules. You don’t “owe” anybody free podcasts. Sure, we all enjoy them heartily, but I hate that obnoxious sense of entitlement that too many people have on the internet, where they contribute absolutely nothing and demand everything, on time, and for free. Just put them ma’fuckas out when you can.
2) That being said, while I can appreciate Ciph being about his guap, you’re really not paying attention if you don’t see the way that the business of media, especially entertainment, personality-driven media, has changed over the last 10 years. Free content, be it podcasts, vlogs, mixtapes, etc., is how people expand their “brand” in this day and age. I guarantee you that there’s way more money for Ciph DJing and club hosting as “Cipha Sounds, of the comedy duo Juan Epstein” than as “Cipha Sounds, Funkmaster Flex’s lil’ buddy”.
This is the era of the niche. The “mainstream” is a rapidly-contracting entity, and there’s a much bigger upside to creating a smart, hip product with a loyal cult following than spinning Trey Songz records for hoodrats.

Being that Juan Ep was my introduction to you guys, I can’t get into the other stuff ya’ll do because it sucks! It’s not your fault, but I can’t get into the radio programming BS. Even Real Late seems too radio for my tastes. The hot shit that you do drop, i’ve already cop’d from one of the blogs, and listen to it when I feel like it. I have to cosign the above two quotes.
I am getting older and its harder and harder for me to relate to this new bullshit going in “Hip Hop”, so I look at you two guys as bastions for the “Hip Hop” that I hold in high esteem.
I cant find any show on terrestial, sat, or internet radio that covers the same topics and has the proper feel that Juan Ep has. Your product has a niche that’s begging to be filled and with the industry connections you two have could be a huge mainsteam success, but I digress.
Drop some more info on Rico if you can, some of the fans hated him, but I thought when he dropped by the show it was a nice change of pace in perspective w/o going too far astray.
