Seriously dude, a Bun Noisemakers would be great, but since you’ve admitted yourself that you’re not as up on southern hip-hop as you should be, do yourself a huge favor and REALLY step up your southern rap game and just try to gain as much knowledge about the Houston scene as you possibly can in the weeks leading up to the interview. Obviously Bun is mad into the New York classics as well, but you’d probably get more out of him if you asked him specific questions about the rap scene he grew up in.
A few examples of stuff I’d want to hear about in a nerdy Bun interview:
His thoughts on the continuing popularity/cult appeal of dudes like Z-Ro and Devin (in comparison to most other rappers from H-Town)
Miami and ATL bass music and its influence on Houston rap
How he hooked up with Point Blank and the South Park Coalition (I could be wrong, but I think the first album that Bun and Pimp appeared on that wasn’t a UGK record was the first Point Blank album)
Peter if you ever listen to anything I say, before the interview buy the DVD; Dirty States of America. You’ll understand the south better. This DVD was well-researched and well put together.
Thought the interview was awesome. Rosenberg came off pretty humble too in letting Bun tell his story and not telling it for him like some journos do.
^^
Oh, I’m getting that dvd.
RESPECT shit was dope R.I.P. PIMP C!!
