  1. Like 5-6 years ago I got back into wrestling in a MAJOR way after hardly watching any of it since I was about 11, so I’m loving all these wrestling interviews that you do.

I gotta disagree that WWE is all that matters though. I mean, if anything, the fact that R-Truth is a WWE star now is just a great example of how they’re always looking to the other leagues to find new talent, though I’m sure his veteran status didn’t hurt either. Also this probably doesn’t even need to be pointed out, but a seriously crazy amount of dudes on the WWE roster from like ‘99 ’til now are ex-ECW.

R-Truth seems like a really nice dude. It’s funny how this could have easily been mistaken for a random southern rap interview if it weren’t for all the wrestling talk.

  2. im not trying to say that other companies don’t do good things or have great talent, but have you been to a TNA show in Orlando? It’s just a different world…thanks for checkin the wrasslin ish

  3. A lot of the “ex-ECW dudes” were already ex-WWF wrestlers before they entered Heyman country. And Killings already had a stint as K-Kwik back in the 90’s WWF. I’m not saying Vince’s vision for wrestling is perfect, but it is the major league, and if you look at what’s happening in TNA and ROH right now, it’s gonna continue to be that way for a minute.

Nice interview, I think Killings is still the only Black NWA champ ever…unless you count Dre, Eazy, Cube, Yella and Ren.

  4. Well yeah, ECW (as with many minor leagues) was like 70% former WCW/WWF/NWA guys, but it was still the reason most of them still stayed in both fans and industry people’s minds throughout the 90s rather than just fading into obscurity like a ton of other early 90s WCW/WWF wrestlers.

I think I interpreted Peter’s comment a bit too literally. Content-wise, I still enjoy watching WWE more than anything else (it’s one of those things where having a stupid amount of money put into it really does make it better), and it goes without saying that any TNA/ROH/whatever wrestler would jump at the chance to sign a contract with WWE. And obviously a wrestling event in a smallish venue is going to have a completely different vibe than one at MSG, that just goes without saying.

Anyway, TNA is apparently doing another UK tour next January, and I’m thinking about traveling to either Glasgow or Manchester for it. I haven’t watched it in about 2 years, but the last stuff I saw was pretty crazy.
