What do you think of this?

Jay is good. I almost completely agree. A lot of you wondered why I didn’t speak out on Asher’s situation. Well who really needed to hear from a white dude about the off color remarks of his white friend? I just did not think my defending of Asher would have been worth while (and yes I know a lot about how Asher feels on race issues and knowing that–I WOULD have defended him–even though his joke was in poor taste).

Dude, why don’t you just say he told a bad joke and he shouldn’t have said shit? Be honest, just because you’re pumping the kid’s album doesn’t absolve him from making a dumb-ass statement.

Call a spade a spade (or in this case, a hunky a hunky) and be honest with yourself and your fans.

All this “I’m not taking any sides” shit is bitch-made actions.

  2. I agree wit’ him….. Asher Roth definately got too comfortable….. it was a dumb idea to post that on Twitter…. or to say it at all in the first place…. because you know how people gonna react….. no matter however way you meant it….. Asher Roth definately needs some media training….

  5. I also agree with “miles d cat” you and Asher have a public relationship….because you made it so. With that understanding it’s important to be truth-full with him, your fans and you….when you didn’t say anything, it was like you were running form the situation, Which in tells the bitch-made rule. I believe that Asher is not that dude so he’s growing but for you who is little more reason on these topics should have said something…..lauryn hill said it best check your action and motive are someone will….

  6. I gotta go with Cip-her on this. The moral of the story: Don’t joke about Don Imus on twitter.

  9. Pretty much agree with that 100%. While someone would have to be pretty thick to take his twitter “tweet” at 100% face value, the fact is that he is a fairly high-profile celebrity right now and that he should watch what he says in public very very carefully for his OWN sake. If he doesn’t, he constantly runs the risk of having to explain himself and his choice of words to literally thousands of people, and that’s just a pain in the ass.

  10. not trying to get at you pete but, any chance you’re not saying anything because you said “nappy headed hoes” on a juan epstein? haha.

jay smooth is so good at summing it all up.

  11. hahaha @abraham

@huh where can i see rhiannas boobs?

    @everyone else..

i understand why you think i should have said something about asher’s situation as i do have a public friendship with him…obviously saying that on twitter..obviously..i just felt like who needs another white dudes comments on how black women should feel (as they are really the demo that would be hurt by that joke)..

that said..i do think it was an arbitrary thing for motherfuckers to get all sensitive about..though it was a dumb joke–it was OBVIOUSLY not intended to be taken the way it was..but thats the danger of race jokes

also all my people know how i feel about race etc and how i feel about asher so i felt like my words would have been really obvious but point taken..thanks guys

i love the douchebags on my site..no bullshit..i think i have the best commenters in the game

  12. fair enough pete. i think people expected you to comment because you are another high profile white male in hiphop.
why? i have no idea. seems like people were waiting for you to f++k up too. i think the only person who needed to speak on this issue was asher and all he needed to do was apologise and explain his actions. that’s it.

at the end of the day it was a misguided joke using a type of media that cannot express emotion, so no wonder people got the wrong end of the stick (nh).

either way bro, keep doing what you do. must be due for another juan ep by now. and shot for getting my joke, def didn’t mean anything by it.

  13. i think the fact that he was repeating a past racial joke that went bad, automatically shows that he was joking. he obviously saw what happened to don imus. he obviously wasnt trying to put himself in the same position. he repeated it thinking people would take it light heartedly. i dont think he meant anything by it at all. white people need to chill the fuck out when it comes to almost “upsetting” black people on racial matters. rosenberg sounds like he was scared to reply b/c he didnt want the same heat to come down on him. when frankly pete, you should have carte blanche when it comes to throwing out racial statements. your jewish ancestors clearly took more shit than any race ever did. and almost every race has been persecuted at one time or another in history. bottom line people get way too worked up over race. chill the fuck out and just be people…

  16. I JUST THOUGHT ABOUT SOMETHING!!!!

when rosenberg was saying nappy headed hoes on juan epstein (the same show that got over 60 comments of yall claiming it was one of the best ever), how come i didn’t see people like miles d cat say anything about that????

but when asher roth says it, you wanna tell rosenberg to stop co-signing for asher and “be honest” and shit.

real talk, yall muthafuckas suck donkey balls to the second power, cause if it was another white rapper that you was actually a big fan of, you wouldn’t be complaining as much or at all. shit, yall posting comments on a white dude’s website that said THE EXACT SAME THING, yet i don’t see anyone on here bashing rosenberg for that, but yall wanna bash asher cause you ain’t a fan of his music??? fuck outta here.

btw, eminem is putting out a new album. you know, the same one who was caught saying NIGGA on tape??? much worse than nappy headed hoes.

  17. i think jay is pretty much on point here. i disagree that it was a harmless joke in bad taste though. i think it is in fact very harmful and used in the way he did, i think it is a clear example that he has issues with black people under the surface. of course he’s gonna say otherwise. he obviously thinks of black people as a very simple race with the stereotypes he used about the materialistic “african rappers” comment… i mean tell us what you really think asher.

bottom line is though peter, he is a very average white rapper. he has absolutely no originality. everything he is doing as a “artist” has been done already. the whole college kid gimmick has been done before and done better.

sooooo…. why the unconditional cosign? you may not be personal friends with rick ross but you know him a bit and that didn’t stop you from reporting on your radio show with ciph that he made a racial remark, and it shouldn’t. to leave this thing hanging out there without addressing it publicly, kinda seems shady if you ask me.

  18. bep sucks. making fame on youtube off of dissing other rappers and you wanna talk shit about those who got comments about asher roth. that’s contradicting asshole.

  19. i do agree with this dude in the video. unfortunately we live in america though, where racism is not only a part of the history, it’s the foundation. nowadays, people are so quick to call anything racist without knowing the history of that person.

if i could remember last summer on bet and youtube, when dj drama introduced asher on rap city before he dropped any single, they made him look like all he raps about is conscious/political shit while he’s wearing an obama shirt, not the girls/weed/college shit that people think that’s all he’s about.

personally i would find it more shady to hear pmd respond to this for the simple fact that he did say the same thing on juan ep. that’s like the game or jadakiss saying rick ross is wrong for dissing 50, yet they did mixtapes dissing g-unit.
