Best First Round Series Ever?

Man this series has been one long heart attack. I am pretty confident that the Celtics will hold it down back in Boston, but man, these baby Bulls are very good. Rose is the real deal–as is Ben Gordon–and Noah is just as f*cking annoying as he was at Florida.
We all know this series would have been over by now if KG was available, but such is life in the NBA playoffs. Rondo has been incredible, although stupid at times and Ray Allen? Psh Ray Ray is the man. I watch him play now and wonder how he wasn’t a lifelong Celtic.
Bulls fan or Celtics fan–or NBA fan in general–you gotta love this series.
I have always wondered this Rosenberg, how come you are a celtic fan? Shouldn’t you be a Bullet/ Wizard fan? Checking in from Fort Lauderdale, watch out for those Gators.

First off the Celtics are underachievers with a sub-par performance or lack there of from Paul Pierce this entire series he has been a joke Making Kendrick Perkins play like hes back in High School and making Big baby look like he needs another size up in that Jersey he squeezes on every night the only bright spot for these Larry Bird wanna-bees is that Rajon Rondo finally decided to play like a Star instead of letting Brian Scalabrinie a.k.a. Jackie Moon with that “you know your a red headed white boy head band on” try to lead the break. I understand that a few people think this is an amazing series and it deserves to be mentioned but to think the Chicago Bulls are putting it to the Celtics and pushing this series to a game 7 is a joke. The Celtics are returning defending Champions what is the deal does one player mean that much to a team or are this years Celtics a bunch of underachievers with Paul Pierce Leading the Pack . I understand that Kevin Garnett is a Beast on the hardwood but he never won a championship until he came to Boston so he is not the key to them winning and slamming the door on these BULLS and Michael Jordan is not going to come thru the doors for Vinney del Negro I can Promise you that. I definetly think that this is almost identical to last years Playoffs when again the underachieving Celtics almost got knocked off by the 8th seeded Atlanta Hawks which if you look at a replay of that series its another classic example of the Boston Celtics underachieving and barley getting away with a series win. We all know that its going to be Kobe vs Lebron in the finals and I think we have all been waiting for this for a long time now. So Rosenberg its great that your a Celtics Fan but step off there nizzes they aint horses I highly doubt that you have been a Boston fan your whole life since you and I are the same age I know unlike most that the Great ‘C’s have been horrible for most of your exsistince and to think that you stuck with them after Reggie Lewis Passed and they becam extra bad with Pervis Ellison on the floor lol. Im sure you were there while Losing became a part of the culture in Beantown hu ? Eithier way this years Celts are underacievers and cant do it with KG this year or Without KG. THEY SUCK!!!!!! PMD, a few thoughts from a Boston native…
- This series is causing me serious stress. I had no less than 3 strokes last night (pause).
- Pierce isn’t doing shit, Rondo and Allen are carrying this team and the refs have been suspect at best.
- The bulls have a deeper bench, and Ainge’s mid season pick ups haven’t panned out the way they did last year.
- Gordon & Rose are legit
- C’s win by 12 on saturday. guaranteed.
- Stern had his Boston-LA finals last year, and now he wants his Lebron vs. Kobe finals. It is what it is.
@ Jones - Lakers are a better all around team but LJ is a fucking alien beast. W/O LJ the cavs are the 10th team in the east at best. Lakers win it in 6.

I think this might be best series ever. Don’t get my wrong, the holy trinity of bball(Jordan, Magic and Bird) have played in some great playoffs/Finals games. But none have been greater than this. This series made me think it was the 90s (when the NBA was good). The only thing I fear is that the Finals will suck balls. Hopefully if Lebron and Kobe make it to the Finals, they will give us a great series like this one.

Being from VA we got to see all of the Bullets games in the late 80’s, 90’s and they sucked so bad the only time they were worth watching is when C Webb, Juan Howard, and Rasheed Wallace was there.

Are you kidding me Rosenberg? Kg is out and that’s why they haven’t beat the bulls last year they almost didn’t make it to the finals. They barely got by the hawks and the cavs. I thought they were the big 3.

@Magnus B: I like most of what you are saying, except for the [t-pain] Blame it on the refs [/t-pain]. Come on, you are missing the fact that you guys aren’t as good as you were last year, primarily due to injury and a weak bench(which is one thing you did say). Refs… lol if anything they are keeping you in this series, for all extensive purposes Rondo should have caught a flagrant against Brad Miller. Plus with worse refereeing could have been kicked out of game 6 for his scuffle with [asherroth] “If I’d ball I’d be Kirk Heinrick” [/asherroth]. Not to mention “maybe” touching the ball while it was in the cylinder last night, at the very least he touched the rim which is goal tending (if I’m not mistaken).
Boston has been killed by injury’s, leave it at that.

I agree the injuries have hurt. Not having KG hurts a lot, but not having KG and Powe makes the situation much worse.
I hear what you’re saying about the refs, but I honestly think they’ve made some awful calls the entire series, both ways. But being a C’s fan I’ve got to side with my boys.
Fact is they’re not as good an overall team as they were last year. It would be a miracle for them to make it to the finals. And I believe in miracles, just not this one.

If KG was in the lineup!? Woulda, coulda, shoulda. We all know the Celtics would’ve got their asses handed to them in last year’s finals if Bynum didn’t get injured! The Celtics are done! It’s Cleveland vs Los Angeles in the finals… everyone else is playing for third and forth place right now.
