The Next Noisemakers….

Who do you want to see? It’s really going to come down to a few factors–mostly whose music I love the most and who is interested, but I’m curious for your thoughts. It looks as if Round 2 will be going down at the 92 Y Tribeca in late January. Thoughts?!

  4. Damn, late January? I’ll prolly be back to class by then.

But I second Just Blaze, I’m sure he has some dope stories from the ROC era. He might be tough to get though. Anyone from Wu?

  9. A lot of people forget about the impact HiTek had on the whole new era of independent New York rappers. I think he would be extremely interesting to talk to since he kinda disappeared recently but still pops out a litle treat here and there. Beatminerz are top 3.

  11. Someone Juan Epstein totally missed out on is Chuck D or someone from the Wu. Marley Marl or Rakim wouldnt be too bad either. But i think Questlove would be dope for a round 2, first of all he was friends and worked alot with J Dilla and hes interviews is always funny and interesting on a Juan Epstein level. The Roots is one of the only groups thats still doin it today. Heres a dope interview with Questlove by Nardwuar. Enjoy!

  13. Yeah, Pete Rock definitely seems the obvious choice, and for good reason. But someone mentioned Prince Paul, and I kicked myself for not thinking of it. That shit would be hilarious.

  30. It’s gotsta be RZA.

With him, it’s not just going to be the music, it’s going to be a discussion of the entire Wu-Tang mythos.

This is a guy that produced not just individual hot songs, but entire classic records: 36 Chambers, Tical, Return to the 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, Cuban Links, Ironman, Forever, Supreme Clientele.

This is a guy who was the svangali to some of the most celebrated MCs of all time: Method Man, Raekwon, GFK, ODB.

You could fill 5 interview sessions with nothing but stories from the RZA.

  31. lets be serious. if u do anything less than preemo, ur just playing yourself and any future of NMers… I was at the joint…and it hit hard… U established a brand. Do Pete, and Move on to February.

You already interviewed Pete for the Juan Ep. I think a good choice in order would be Rza, Marley or Q-Tip.
