  2. Good show and some great Juan Eps recently. On the whole, major props Peter. However, there’s only so long you can peddle the kind of ignorance that says Kanye’s album is ‘pretty solid’ and rave about some bland crap like Illa J or the new Luda/Primo joint without sounding idiotic.

I’m not up on Guilty Simpson yet but
Elzhi n Royce on the same joint is sounding like the illest lyrical duo since Nas and AZ

  9. Devin The Dude is quite possibly the most underrated hip hop artist of all time…I’m from H-Town so I’ll admit my bias but I live in LA now and everybody that I put up on Devin has became a dedicated fan

  11. Good show, shame you didn’t know about devin because that interview was kinda awkward. Considering you’re a smoker I’m surprised you’re not up on the first couple of albums.

  12. I got here a CDQ audio version of the Kanye West Interview on DJ Semtex’ Show.
I record his show every weekend, here is the download link:

  13. Great stuff, loved the Devin interview.. Hopefully you’ll become more familiar with his catalog (seriously his first album and the Odd Squad album are absolute MUST-HAVES if you like his vibe at all) and get to do a Juan Epstein with him some day. Was cool to hear him specifically mention “Write & Wrong”, since it’s one of my favorite songs on his debut, I dug the James Taylor talk, and it ruled to hear him shout out Poison Clan as being an important early southern group. They tend to get overlooked a lot.

Was his first recorded appearance on the Geto Boys’ “Bring It On” (’93)? I can’t think of anything earlier.

  15. Hot 97’s “Now Playing” list does not post anything during live mixes but the last song that was played before the mixshow.
