Granted the Pac getting shot thing, homey is pretty much on point…to a degree. When you really think about it, what has Puff done that is SO great for the hip-hop culture?
I really can’t think of anything myself. Just that he has grown his celebrity status to the point that my granny actually thinks he’s cool. His television shows are hit and miss and the musical acts (rap) he’s brought to the table are very suspect: Da Band, Ness, Young Joc, and Boyz N Da Hood. In reality, homey has just been givin’ a pass becuase of Big. That pass has made him who he is today…in the terms of PMD (on diggy from run’s house): a DOUCHE with a big sense of entitlement.
I know he’s Puff and he gets the pass and he can act like a prick and get away with everything he does. But, that ish only goes so far.
Big question (pun intended): Where would Puff be if you took Biggie out of the equation? His biggest accomplishment in hip-hop culture would be….ummm, what? Craig Mack?
*really think about this before you start typing all the hate. Don’t get me wrong, I got mad love for Puff, but sometimes you just gotta step back and try and focus…especially when someone calls you a bitch! haha.
