Holy shit, I was gonna just listen to a bit of this and then go to bed, but after he started talking about being on stage when “where brooklyn at?” happened I just sat and listened to the whole thing. GREAT fucking work, this is what hip-hop interviews should be like more often.

Joe seems real bitter when he talks about people trying to write him out of hip-hop, which is kinda understandable.. I mean, he’s done plenty of work this decade that’s just beyond wack, but it seems like more than most other fallen-off MCs, people often don’t acknowledge that he had a LOT of dope records throughout the ’90s. “Represent” is a straight up classic to me.

Who believes that there are certain people trying to keep Fat Joe out of hip-hop history? The truth is, Fat Joe was a very mediocre rapper when he started and now is only slightly better. He lucky in that he has the right place at the right time syndrome, but he hasn’t made an impact on the game like anyone he mentions in his stories.
