The Reason I Wanted to be Here

With Ciph and my new morning show launching on Monday, it’s only right to reflect on why I got here in the first place. No matter how much I may buck the system in Ciph’s eyes, saying I work at Hot 97 is an absolute dream come true to me and this article was a great reminder of why. Shout out to the 21 year old skinny Cipha Sounds cameo.

Also a big shout out to Flex, Angie, and everyone else at Hot that has given us a much needed co-sign. No matter what happens, I am thrilled and ready for Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg to make moves in morning radio.

  1. But tonight, it’s just Flex, his producer, Rivera, and Cipha Sounds, a slim, mustachioed 21-year-old D.J. from the Bronx Flex has taken under his wing. “I see him six days a week,” says Cipha. “He teaches me. He gave me a shot at the Tunnel, and then” — he shrugs modestly — “I blew up.”

  2. what busta song is the article citing that goes “where my dawgs at”? either the journalist is referring to dmx or busta’s part on “victory.” any guesses?

  6. good read…Flex has been holding down the title crown in the city for so long he’s already earned his spot in the Mt. Rushmore of DJ’s.

*how about juan epstein take a page out of Flex’s catalouge and drop a online mixtape for the streets - I mean you guys should be able to at least round up Daytona, Wale, and some other cats for the project if not also to promote the new morning show.
