You be havin good thoughts but the evils be revealin
and the stresses of life can take you off the right path
Jealousy and envy tends to infiltrate your staff
We gotta hold it down so we can move on past
all adversities, so we can get through fast…

  14. No disrespect PMD, but I think you should just follow Ciph’s advice. This is their system so you should just adapt to their system.

You always show Ciph respect and let him talk mad shit to you all the time. I don’t see why he exploded on you, it’s just too uncalled for.

WHY SHOULD PETE HAVE TO ADAPT?

THE SYSTEM HAS THE REPUTATION AND THE WORLD RECORD FOR PLAYING LIL WAYNE’S LOLLIPOP 10,000 TIMES IN A SINGLE DAY

SURELY THERE IS A LEGITIMATE LOCAL ARTIST WHO COULD HAVE BENEFITTED FROM HAVING AT LEAST 1 OF THOSE SPINS TAKEN AWAY FROM WAYNE AND GIVEN TO HIM OR HER

  26. I truely get a kick out of the podcast, & for
years I couldn’t stand Cipha… The show actually
helped me to understand him a little bit better.

Anyway, dude has got to chill on the Hot97 Matrix
and all the rules that the system has set. I like
the fact that he’s blunt about shit, but… Lets
get this shit straight, yall need to abolish some
    of them fucking rules.!!

  27. pete, real talk, ur right about cipha! a few months back i thought ur whole attitude to lateness was wack and i could see why he was getting so pissed off, but it seems now cipha has developed a complete lack of trust for u, and doesnt trust u with anything! its has led him 2 never give u the benefit of the doubt on anything. maybe at the start he wudda let some of ur shit slide, but now, if he thinks u were MAYBE being disloyal, cos its you, he assumes the worst, so i feel 4 u on that one. its fucked up as well, cos its not jsut a dude in ur office who u can kinda avoid, u have 2 have fun conversations on air and make jokes with him and have a friendly functional relationship (pause)….good luck 2 both u dudes

  28. yo its about time you told cipha about him breaking your balls all the time. i was waiting for that, glad it happened on juan epstein. you guys should use this podcast as a way to work out problems all the time.

Too much bickering in this one.I appreciate the podcast, but fawking A!!! Chill on that heavy fighting shit.

  33. I just finished the podcast. I wanted to say Rosenberg you should see Nas live before you write him off. I saw him and thought he put on a great show. I’ve heard you say that Buckshot is the type of artist that knows his new shits alright but everyone wants to hear the classics. When I saw Nas I got the impression he is the same kind of artist. He did almost all of illmatic and the standout songs off his other albums. I’m not saying hes the greatest preformer of all time but I’ve seen a lot of artists live and I thought Nas was dope.

No disrespect to what you heard, I’m not trying to talk shit or anything … just telling you my impression.

  35. Great show. I think Ciph & Rosenberg needed this bickering before the official start of their morning show. Get all the negativity out of each other, check one another, and then keep it moving. “Pay ya taxes, keep it moving.” I gotta agree with pmd on the Nas live and Ciph with Nas’ interviews: both somewhat lacking in energy most of the time. He’s not the type of MC you can really appreciate live as much as you can based on his spoken word.

Props for the two hour season premier. Thanks for not letting the writer’s strike affect your show. No Summer hiatus is nice too. One volume.

  36. I’m a listener of Juan Epstein from day one and I consider myself a big fan - seriously though, it’s like the tenth time I hear you quarelling about being late, hot97 being a great chance, minding ones own business and you’re repeating the same arguments over and over. It’s getting kind of Jerry Sprinegerish and too predictable.
The episodes that stayed in my mind were those when you had some actual topic - based on your storries, devoted to fast food, djing, southern hip hop. Am I not right?

  37. I haven’t been late to anything for about a week now. What I’ve been doing is getting up at 5-7 AM and going to sleep at 7-11 PM. I figure your lateness is a direct effect of your bad sleeping habits (much like mine), so what you need to do is figure out a period of time during which you can just sleep without missing the shit you need to do regularly (the morning and late night shows).

Also, given the time between your Sunday night show and your monday morning show, I don’t think you’ll be able to sleep between them. All you need to do is figure out the right time to sleep, and do so *regularly*. You will feel sleepy at the exact same time every day, and wake up at the same time every day. Last semester, I was the “on time is early for me!” guy, not because I live 65 miles away from my college, but because I would oversleep and end up leaving at a time that would make it impossible for me to arrive before class starts.

The big issue for me was sleeping. I realized that if I stayed up late, and went to sleep in the morning for about five hours, I would be really tired by the time night came, and I could sleep then and wake up early. Just apply that to your situation and you’ll be doing shit earlier than Ciph.

Whatever time you need to wake up at to do your Sunday night show and your Monday morning show, you need to get up at that time *all week*, not just Sunday.

  38. Yo, 2 hour Season 2 premiere was soo neccessary. I agree w/ who ever said the bickering was needed to start of the new season and the morning show good.

Peter: we have a few mutual friends, one of which Kunal is having an event at Kush Lounge (191 Chrystie and Stanton) Friday Night, should be dope.

  39. Good show…

Ciph is just shook … he finally got what he’s always wanted and is scared Peter might fuck it up.

Instead of saying “this is wrong FIX IT” he should say “this is wrong, this is why its wrong, and this is what u should do to fix it.”

    congrats
