Another good one guys.
Macs are generally better for serrato because a PC is bound to try accessing the internet to update or randomly do something which will use up all the resources and make the audio stutter or stop.

Wasn’t Stanton’s Final Scratch the first time code vinyl DJ system?
I thought they beat Serato to the market, although Serato crushed them.
Although I’m a loyal Serato user, I hear that Traktor Scratch is coming for that ass. Better tracking, easier connectivity.
But the time code shit is really only a stepping stone to the next stage of dj’ing, which is controlling software with MIDI controllers. That stage is here now actually.
I’ll have a blog post about this coming soon.

Oh, and about Rane… I was loving them before Serato. Their gear is built like tanks and have great sound. Always the best combination of performance and function. Most mixers don’t stand a chance in a nightclub environment but Rane can take a beating.
I had shitty mixers until ‘99 when I saved up for my TTM-54. I never owned a Vestax, although they were the leaders. I wanted to be different too. I went from the 54 to the Empath last year.
And it wasn’t just hip-hop kids that grew to love Rane. Their rotary mixers have been killing the dance world forever.

Keep up the great work, more producer/DJ nerding out !!! and I still collect vinyl despite having been DJing w/ a laptop for the last 6 years… nothing compares to the contrast on real vinyl .
