What the flip is going on this week?

Is it the hot weather? What is going on? So many touchy manfans this week. Cats are upset cuz I love the Wayne record. Cats are upset cuz I dis 50. Cats are upset cuz Juan Epstein wasn’t up to snuff.

I am happy to engage with fans on the site and I always show respect to cats who take the time to check out what I do. But to all of you giving me advice or complaining about what I decide to give exposure to or who I like–you can really bite me. I do not care what you think about the content of this blog or my videos or my podcasts frankly. Everything I do on this site is extra for people who enjoy what I do enough to check what’s on the site. I don’t get paid for this, though, and I do this for fun. If you don’t like it–have a coke and a smile and shut the f*ck up! Love you haters…

  2. Not that you asked for it (at all) but I’d advice you to stop telling the fans to stop telling you what to do. It’ll save you a headache and create less of a you vs us attitude. Hating is “our nature” like that sea-goddess said in Pirates of the caribbean.

PS: Allegedly 50 Cent was drawn with cartoonishly overtoned muscles on the cover of “The Massacre” to resemble a Ninja turtle to the delight of his kid. I guess that means his son and therefore by proxy 50 “likes turtles”.

Anyone who like turtles can’t be bad.

  3. there is no suching as a “me vs you” attitude for 99% of the people on here. There is that attitude for the motherfuckers who think that because there is a comment section that they have some right to influence the content of the site. NEVER in history has it been acceptable for fans of people to demand the shit they get from them and to complain about what they don’t get. If I sound like a pompous dickhead–GOOD, because I’m not one and apparently I’m so friendly that I make it cool for douchebags to feel comfortable here. Anyone who has ever met me in person or emailed back and forth with me knows that I am very low key and thankful that anyone checks my site, but I have no problem at all coming off like a dickhead to the kids who feel the need to drop “gems” while they sit in their cubicle listening to a podcast.

Oh by the way — “slamp” is a big pun reference from a song called “My Turn” off “Yeah Baby”.

Yay a Nas mixtape..I mean I’m sure it’s dope and I will give it a thorough listen..but frankly, I’m sure it’s dope cuz Green Lantern did it–not cuz of Nas..

Nas actually continues to be more and more of a joke..as my man Daryl “Qmaine” Francis said the other night–”who is really checking for Nas?”

“Be a N**er Too” makes NO SENSE and kind of sucks–as does “Hero”..then after all the bullshit and talk–Nas backs off the album title..I was never in favor of it, but backing off of it is even cornier..Nas is one of the greatest ever, but until I hear something amazing from–I will not be at all excited for anything Nas related..

i really dont know why Rosenberg is letting it get to him. people will never be content, thats why as soon as you drop Juan Ep some douchebag will be asking when the next one drops. People bitched that illmatic is too short to be considered a classic, I rest my case! -_-

Waynes album is a classic. Nobody wants to give him credit cause hes known for saying stupid shit. But lets be serious, whos wordplay is as advanced as waynes (with the exception of the legends in the game)

Rosenberg dont change your ways, i like this site and i would hate for this site to ‘jump the shark’ because of a few haters who want more shit. They probably want some kind of father son attention, meaning they want you to be more active so they give you ideas on what to put up.

In terms of PMD & his Weezy man crush, well, Wayne has quickly become a giant in the game & if he picked hot beats, his album will get spins. Sounds to me like he pulled off what The Game pulled off on Documentary. Sick production, reasonably decent rhymes.

I’m not on the radio so I wouldn’t dare tell a man how to do his job or when to get content up on the site. Only cat PMD should be listening too is his boss & Mr. Sounds, a vet who seems to have his shit on point.

You need to embrace the hate. Those cats hate you here, on youtube, and in every other medium, but they get your views up. Quantifiable numbers you can take to your bosses. You should consider them necessary stans to the Rosenberg movement. And honestly, if people complain about your content getting up here fast enough, clearly they like what they hear.

Shit, for all you underground heads, he flipped ‘Holy Thursday’ by David Axelrod better than pretty much anyone I’ve ever heard. And if you don’t like that, then you don’t like Hip Hop.

The nuts are some of the sickest PRODUCERS of all time, but they are NOT rappers.

To call wayne average as an MC is absurd. Wayne follows no one but Wayne. He is clearly influenced by Jay but he took Jay’s style and ran with it and has become a completely different MC. it was said they brought u to hot 97 to bring that underground hip hop to the station…i guess thats not the case cause at a certain point artist like wayne dont need a peter rosenberg cs (i mean ur free to do what u want tho its ur show)

but think about ur primary reason 1 yr ago for coming to hot 97 was it really to start ur show off with a song that can be heard during the routine hot 97 mix during the day - or was it to hightlight some of the less know artist bubbling on the surface - -hell it took u forever to play blu and exile but whatever ur show is still hot but remember the essence

    but hey do u —

As to Wayne, I’d like to see/hear a intelligent discussion about the subject.
For instance: it does my head in, that anyone would consider A Millie a hot beat.
A standard drum machine drum pattern + a voice repeating “a millie” over and over again? There is nothing there. I don’t get it.

  60. as far as the advice thing, i am guilty of it aswell and like me i think alot of your fans were just telling you what they like and dislike, is that so bad. isnt JuanEpstein for the fans anyway. i dont see why people telling you what they like is such a big deal

  67. Pete, the last excellent Nas album is 2006’s “Hip Hop Is Dead”

    BEATS very good
    RAPPING excellent
SUBJECT MATTER good/interesting, Nas says some insightful shyt here

yes Nas has had some meh albums, but this along with Stillmatic are excellent, & of course Illmatic is classic. That’s 3 excellent+ albums.

OTOH, has Lil Wang made 1 good album? Or even outrapped ANYONE on a song EVER? Last year, even Big Pooh & Kanye West sonned Wayne on their songs. Plus Lil Wang’s voice is so annoying, that’s it hard to listen to dude even if he had great beats & great rapping ability.

  68. To The Fly Jew,

Word of advice, keep giving people reasons to give you “word of advice”. And don’t let that shit stress you out, use that shit for promotion. Besides, if I wasn’t giving you word of advice, I wouldn’t be fucking with you in the first place.

And if you think the heat is crazy in NYC, shit, Atlanta is making niggas CRAZIER.

Oh yeah, I expected THE CARTER 3 to sound like his mixtape shit, but I still fucks with it. After hearing “Misunderstood”, it makes me wish that I had a lot of haters. Speaking of that…

ALL YOU CATS OUT THERE THAT ARE HATING ON LIL WAYNE ARE ACTUALLY PROMOTING HIM MORE THAN HIS FANS ARE. PMD’S FAVORITE RAPPER SAID IT BEST…

    “I don’t talk about rappers I don’t like”
