  8. I copped … I avoided that other thread but I have to agree I don’t see what everyone is getting excited about … it’s alright but the rhymes and beats are just alright nothing special … I do enjoy seeing someone doing well in hip-hop but it’s really nothing special … I don’t care what bloggers think – big sales don’t make an album classic.

pmd is entitled to his own opinion though, no hatin over here. I just respectfully disagree.

  9. its a 4.5 out of 5. most of the hate is just that, hate.

stop being rapper racist. if wayne was from nyc, people would be hailing him as the second coming of rakim.

  10. 3 out of 5….wayne has an incredible flow, but his content at times is suspect. I wish all the hype would stop and let dude develop into what he is going to develop into! cant say his name in the same breath as big, jay, pac, scarface, dre 3000, or rakim, krs etc….. but if he keeps getting better he can be in that company one day. I hate when the game is dry and cats pick one of the best at the time and try to crown him prematurely….the same way they did lebron!!! Let him grow (pause) Not that he say much more but I personally like Rick Ross album better as a complete work….. I know its easy to big up weezy because he is one of the only cats doing it right now but I dont think that album is a classic!

  12. I bought Seeing Sounds rather than that. Every track on Seeing Sounds has replayability and pure greatness. I only like 7 out of 16 tracks on C3. You fell into the hype. I did myself with graduation and the cool. I barely replay those albums. You’ll realize in maybe 2 months you made a mistake with your 13 bucs while I bought one of the best albums in the longest time. No hate either…just real talk

  13. Peter! on deluxe edition track named “Kush” Wayne mentions turtles 3 times, says he’s like turtle when he sips that purple. That means he likes turtles.

  15. WILDING!! it was not a classic at all. Pete rocks and Emc albums were better. It is though a pretty good album, I still like carter 2 better. oh and the first 2 songs from that album you played on your show were TORRIBLE!!

  16. wayne is the joke of the century. he is NOT a good rapper period. we all know this.

just cuz he claims hes the greatest on his records doesnt mean he really is. how r u 2 becoming brainwashed by his nonsensical garbage?

he is a disgrace to hip hop. he says nothing in his rhymes. he sounds like me freestyling when i was 14. he overrated and hopefully will go away soon.

i listened to the album just hear if he could actually finally come with good shit, and he falls way short once again.

the beats are fuckin boring too. the kanye joint let the beat build is easily the best beat.

bottom line, hes a joke. A JOKE A JOKE A FUCKIN JOKE!!!!!!!

  18. People too often confuse OPINIONS with HATE… I’ve given Wayne numerous chances, but to me, his punchlines are borderline corny at times… His flow is decent but often he raps about nothing… the Carter 3 is OK… def not a classic

When you’re surrounded by shit for a long time it’s easy for something average to look golden…

  20. Pete, why the fuck would you be telling people to go get Tha Carter III? I’m a huge fan of the radio show, mainly because you don’t play much garbage like the stuff Wayne puts out there. How can you recommend Wayne when you have cats out there like Wale, Daytona, Skyzoo, Joe Budden, Sean Price, Nas or any number of the thousand emcees with more talent in their pinkies than Weezy has in his whole gremlin body. Call me a hater, but the Wayne dick riding has gone far enough. He’s not in a class with the greats, put him where he belongs. That’s with cats like the Ying Yang Twins, or Mystikal or whatever other mediocre rapper.

  22. I don’t even like Wayne that much, but can’t resist this brilliant analogy

If Jay is the Michael Jordan of rap, then Wayne is the Kobe Bryant. Think about it. Jay delivered critically acclaimed and commercially successful album upon album, just like Jordan had commercial appeal and undeniable skills—that’s what Kobe and Wayne are trying to achieve. And like Kobe, Wayne stepped up to the pros at a very young age, got with a sick team where he was a star, but not the franchise player, and started winning championships (e.g. multiplatinum albums). Then the chemistry died, the stars left the team and the team fell off, and nobody took him seriously. So, like Kobe, Wayne reinvented his game and came back as one of the best players in the history of the league, in the regular season play that is (mix tapes and guest appearances). But the question is, can he deliver when it counts and win the championship, deliver on the album. Both Wayne and Kobe are up against the biggest test of their careers, one that will show if they ever really should be mentioned on top 10 or top 5 all times lists, or if they’re just top 50.
