It’s over, right? SO SAY IT’S OVER!

Am I the only one who was not happy last night? Who cares that we have the necessary delegates. This hasn’t been a delegates issue for weeks. This is has everything to do with Hillary Clinton showing an ounce of class and admitting defeat so we can all move on. How has she STILL not conceded? It’s truly insane. And mark my words–picking her as VP would be one of the greatest political mistakes of all time. It is amazing that there are supposed experts who believe she would enhance the ticket. It makes no sense. Anyways–I will be happy once she admits it’s over and we can focus on Lil Half Dead aka Weekend at Bernie’s aka John McCain.

I share your frustration, pmd.

PMD, here’s what you need to recognize. This was as close a race for the nomination as you can get. It would be one thing if Obama beat her brains in. But she was still winning (won South Dakota yesterday). She doesn’t owe it to the party to concede (though I wish she would have). I’m sure she’s thinking she was right there & can’t believe she lost. I think she wanted to ease out & wind down so that her supporters don’t jump ship from the party.
I agree with you, VP for Clinton would be terrible.

Peter, I am almost always with you stride for stride as far as politics go, I even had your back on middays in D.C. when you broke down your views on Israel/Palestine, but this time I have to disagree. Its seems as though I have had to check a lot of Obama supporters lately, and though I prefer Obama to Clinton, there are a couple of discrepancies I have been noticing regarding democrats as of late. First, the outcry over the disenfranchisement of voters in Michigan and Florida has been negligent. Ironic, considering democrats were up in arms over the disenfranchisement of Florida voters just a few years ago in the presidential race against Bush. Second, Clinton is winning the popular vote, am I right? Again, democrats a few years cried and cried over flaws in the system when Bush lost the popular vote and won the election, well this delegate system is pure nonsense. Legislatively, the effect Obama/Clinton will have in office is basically the exact same, I do think that Obama can change the perception of our nation abroad and domestically more than Clinton, though, so to me, once Dennis Kucinich was out of the race, legislatively it didn’t matter much to me who wins. But, I digress, I just wonder why people are calling for Clinton to drop out, when she is ahead in the popular vote, and very well would have been ahead in the delegate count had Florida and Michigan been able to vote. To me, it seems as though she was robbed. But, thats just one mans opinion. Keep doing your thing. Peace.

i would like to say that “imjustlikemusiq” makes some very valid points, well thought-out and smart. A point I would like to add is that through the challenges that HRD has faced in this election, we have seen her self-centered attitude and possibly her worst attributes. When she didn’t win Super Tuesday, she was dismissive. When she realized that Florida and Michigan would help her, she claimed that “their voices should be heard” when a few weeks earlier she didn’t care. When she saw that she was mathematically going to lose the nomination, she wanted to change the math. When her supporters and fellow democrats urged to concede earlier, she dismissed the advice. And let’s not bring up her “white vote” comments. And now that she has lost, she doesn’t want to admit it. What’s worse is that she is now fanning the idea of being a VP possibility, when for the last few months she has been blasting Obama’s credibility. I do not understand someone that wants to voluntarily work for an employer whom they do not respect. I feel like we have seen her opportunistic worst the last few months. Which is a shame b/c the Clinton brand was one I use to trust.

its not even a supporter type of situation. the bottom line is Hiliary did a disservice to the democratic party by not bowing out gracefully. By not letting Obama represent the democratic party WEEKS AGO as he now has to be “sold” to the rest of the the democratic party that was voting for Hiliary and not to mention the rest of the country as a presidential candidate representing for the democratic ticket for the presidency. i’m not even a political dude but thats how i see it, im sure many would agree.

Lets kill all the “she is winning the popular vote” bullshit already! She knows as much as anybody that its always been about the delegates. This is how the nomination goes. Does the rules need to be changed? Yeah. Should they be changed on the fly for one candidates benefit? Fuck no!
Her argument is like if her and Obama were playing basketball, he is up by four with one second on the clock, and she hits this crazy 360 half court shot. The shot was bananas and most of the crowd was loving it, but it still only counts for 3 points. But now she wants the shot to count for 5 POINTS because it was sooo dope of a shot and comback and whatever!!! Appealing to the crowd and calling David Stern and shit.
GTFOHWTBS!!!!

I just want to point out, or reiterate, that I am in no way a Hilary supporter or apologist. I think the way she ran her campaign, with the old school “dirty politics” as the lead slipped away, was lamentable, especially after she thought she was being picked on early on in the race when she was leading by a wide margin. I find her to be incredibly slimy and fake, but, I simply can not blame her for not dropping out of the race after I attacked Gore for bowing out too soon.
P.S. - Is “Franchise” Daryl Francis?
