That was some real turtle power right there. Ciph won, but Pete, you could’ve came out of left field with some “Uptown Shit” by Kurious or some “Let It All Hang Out” by A.D.O.R. (Pause) This’ll be a good Juan Ep.
podcast.
looks like coryv is still on the fucking site…JP please handle this clown…
ps — you wouldnt have handled ciph..hes on a different level as a dj than i am (and then you are)..i can kill an underground radio show and im a nice party dj..that dude is on a different playing field
Hey pete, i just saw scatterbrain, it was pretty dope, you got any of your old talk radio from back in the day? because thats the type of stuff we like you for man, i wanna hear some straight up arguements about some real ish.
That was crazy, definitely tv show material. If you guys started doing more short clips like these theres no doubt they’d blow up. Keep doin your thing..
Funny battle. Ciph had the double advantage of his stuff being louder in the speakers (are all his mp3s set to a higher volume by default) plus doing the classic hip-hop producer/DJ going nuts to his own stuff, like when you saw Kanye, Timbaland etc. selling beats to Jay-Z on “Fade To Black” – the producer was always the one going apeshit.
I think these ipod battles are really cool, cause you can change your comeback with a click instead of flipping thru a million inst. Definitely ADOR Let It All Hang Out, some of the best Pete Rock ever. Y’all shoulda went for some Muggs joints though, all his mid-90′s stuff bangs.
Oh, about Pete Rock’s extra drums on his part of Down with the King, I think the idea is, that it’s supposed to emulate Sucker MC’s which he interpolates in the verse.
@ Peter PTA : I know what he was doing but it was just funny to me that he made his part stand out a little more. most rappers do their verse and then leave the studio but pete has to stay cause he is the producer… so while he was in the studio, he spiced his part up a little bit. he has done it on other records as well. timbaland does it to sometimes. I be studying this shit. hha hhaaaaa
@ The King! : FUCK IT !!! we’ll do it live. I’ll write it and we’ll do it live. That beat battle wasn’t planned, we were sitting there doing some other shit and it just happened. fuck it, we did it live.
Yo Pete man, Ciph got you. That Beatnuts shit was crazy tho, rite???????

Yo PMD/Cipha: Wasn’t JuJu just in some trouble overseas? Is there an update on that shit, or was it all settled?
Dope battle. I think Ciph might have won simply for the fact his shit bumped with his speakers. Shoulda hit him with that “Se Acabo Remix.”

If there is ever another round of this, you can wrap up the whole clash in three words…
“I Declare War.”

If you want underground fire, always go with Soundbombing Vol. 2. Always. That Jump Around Remix is fire, but you gotta have that bong that Ciph gets.
