Kanye Flips His Ish Again…
By pmd on May 4, 2008 in Hip Hop |
I love everything this guy does musically, but why does he insist on doing things that are beneath an artist of his caliber? Apparently Kanye didn’t like the B+ given to him by Entertainment Weekly for their review of his “Glow in the Dark Tour” but was telling the reviewer to kill himself really necessary? I believe that final line has since been deleted, but Eskay at Nah Right ran it in his initial discussion of this issue yesterday. The review isn’t even that bad. The guy doesn’t sound like a hip hop head, but Kanye doesn’t get reviewed by just hip hop heads anymore. You’re a genius Ye, but pull it together.
Here is the review from EW and Kanye’s blog below. The “kill yourself” line appeared as the last line of the blog.

Yo, anybody that’s not a fan; don’t come to my show. For what?! To try and throw ya’ll two cents in? Ya’ll rated my album shitty and now ya’ll come to the show and give it a B+. What’s a B+ mean? I’m an extremist. It’s either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, fuck you and the whole fucking staff!!! I know I shouldn’t dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can’t have fun and lose yourself at this tour it’s a good chance you’re a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!! You don’t know shit about passion and art. You’ll never gain credibility at this rate. You’re fucking trash! I make art. You can’t rate this. I’m a real person. I’m not a pop star. I don’t care about anything but making great art. Never come 2 one of my shows ever again, you’re not invited and if you see me…BOW!! This is not pop, it’s pop art!

i actually respect kanye for not being a b*tch and keeping quiet like his publicist probably tells him to
when you do ish like this or when you say “george bush doesn’t care about black people” — sure you alienate some people, but even more people will respect you for opening up your heart and not sounding so crafted and scripted and fake
there’s a reason dude is where he’s at despite all the crazy shit he’s done — it’s because he usually gets vindicated
out of LF the wifey and i went on a date for the first time since the little man was born and we were bumping yeezy’s first ish in downtown chicago on the way to the theatre to watch Iron Man. when “through the wire” came on it was crazy how many people on the street were vibing to it when they heard it. this guy is able to make music that really moves people and i really think he’s not even at his peak. i think there’s a whole lot more in store for him so long as he doesn’t burn out. who knows. i guess we’ll all see.

I respect him more for saying whats on his mind despite who its too. I know kanye is a very emotional guy. I mean we all get criticized but being an artist means every critic has words aimed at you.
He probably still feels urked at Mtv for putting Shitney spears to perform instead of him when he had the more popular song, album, vid, tour etc

does kanye understand that the job of a reviewer is to nitpick? dude was doing his job, so now he shoud “kill himself”? just because he didn’t drop to his knees and suck ye’s show’s dick? (pause)
ye’s meltdowns used to be funny, now they’re getting a little tired. yeah yeah, “he’s an artist, he’s defending his art…” get the fuck outta here.
that might’ve been an excuse for the first or the second or maybe even the third hissyfit he threw because people didn’t kiss his ass….but now? i’m just sick of hearing his bitch ass complain.
reviewers do they job: they write reviews.
entertainers do they job: they entertain.
now, everyone just do their job and quit fucking whining.
