Un-F*cking-believable

What a piece of work “Reverend” Wright is. So much for loyalty huh? After defying all political code and sticking by his former minister’s side, Sen. Obama was stabbed in the back by a man who has proved to be nothing but an attention seeking hack.

alsharpton.gif

“I want that 65 dollars you owe me maf**cka ”

Speaking of which, another “Reverend” –Al Sharpton, threw shots at Sen. Obama as well and accused him of “grandstanding for white people”. Give me a break. Rev. Al would grandstand for klansmen if you paid him well enough. Between the Clintons, the Sharptons, the McCains, and every other jealous hater–Obama is going to have to pull off a miracle to get the nomination. As a friend just said to me– “Crabs in a bucket. We never disappoint”.

True.

  1. i get the very sinking feeling that the media has turned against obama. the clinton machine is working “old country” style. the people must not give up and must rise up. let’s pull it together, smart voters!

  3. okay, i just read the POST article…

“Barack Obama made a call for nonviolence in the aftermath of the Sean Bell verdict - infuriating the Rev. Al Sharpton, who accused the presidential candidate of trying to “grandstand in front of white people,” sources told The Post.”

so what would Al have preferred? Obama standing there in his beret and black leather jacket with one fist up, calling for the revolution? fuck outta here, Al!

  4. peter i respectfully disagree

first obama said he was riding with wright

then he said, nah that’s just my crazy uncle

now he’s throwing his crazy uncle under a bus

peter you’re not from chicago homie

i hang out with the families of bill ayers, rashid khalidi, and all the other so-called left-wingers obama used to hang with

i don’t agree with everything they stand for - but you don’t have to believe in everything that everyone around you stands for - obama hasn’t been able to articulate this simple message, and it has cost him dearly so far

in any case, so far, these people have been only somewhat mentioned in connection with obama

you had better believe that if obama gets the nomination, he’s going to have to answer a lot of questions about people he hung with - not just wright

is he going to throw them all under the bus and disown them?

    peter wake up homie

george dubya is connected to a lot of really shady cats in the south - but you have to take this shit in stride and not let people paint you in a corner so that you’re constantly on defense

bottom line obama is getting worked right now because he’s not able to handle these situations the right way

he gave his critics the upper hand and now he has to create unrest back at home to appease people who he can’t appease anyway

politics is not easy - you can go after reverend wright all you want, but it simply will not solve obama’s problems to play the disowning game. he needs better advisers and he needs to play these situations with more tact. so far, sadly, he has failed

  7. If Rev wright ruins this nomination for Obama hes going to have to worry about a lot more than his next racial rant. I dont think the people that invested so much time into his campaign is gonna like some Rev speaking on Obamas behalf by just about every ignorant stereotype that can be imagined

  8. @ franchise, thanks homie

i’ve been supporting obama since day 1 - and have donated to his campaign (not no small shit either) - so i just want to see obama win this

on a personal note, when obama was running for illinois senate, he came to Eid prayer (the big holiday for Muslims), took his shoes off, and talked about how he’s Christian but his name is Arabic, his father was Muslim, etc. etc.

i love that obama - the dude who said: this is me. you see this? this is me. i’m your next senator and i get down with everyone.

i don’t have any fantasies about shit - i know obama will have to change to be president. there are key issues he has already changed on, and i’m ok with that, that’s life if you want to be president. you have to hold certain policy positions to even enter the running

i just don’t want him to make fundamental compromises that undermine him as a person - and i think with the rev wright situation, he’s treading on thin ice

  10. Chea…

I hear you but here is where I disagree with you and many others. Barack Obama is special because he does not compromise himself. He is not lowering himself which is what one decisive response would have been. I believe he loved Wright and his really hurt and surprised by what has happened. I think he is handling this is honestly and fairly as possible. I admire him. And I do think he will beat this.

  11. I hear what you say Pete, but this is all part of the process. In the same fashion in which Obama may not agree with everything his pastor says and does is the same way his pastor may not agree with everything Obama says and does. Both of them are public figures with reputations and images to either protect or salvage (or destroy) and neither of them are above critique. It cannot be easy for Reverend Wright to sit tight and bite his lip whilst the decades of work, blood sweat and tears are torn down right before him simply due to the political aspirations of a congregation member of his. Having read The Audacity of Hope and listening to his speeches and researching his work, I personally think Obama will be the greatest American president ever. But that still won’t make him God. And that is whom Reverend Wright answers too regardless of whom is sat in the White House.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t agree with Reverend Wrights actions. I just think I understand them.

With that said, I think all of this Reverend Wright nonsense is merely a distraction from the real, hardcore, disgustingly bitter truth issues.

Same thing as Reverend Al Sharpton. If Colin Powell or Condolleza Rice or Rudy Gulliani or even Hillary Clinton said what Obama said in light of a seemingly unjust verdict to the (now state sactioned) brutal murder of an innocent black male, we’d be more than a little cheesed off to say the least. Although implying he is pandering to the majority race (something he cannot win this election without doing mind you) is foul given the environment.

Pete you ever find it amazing when the likes of Sharpton, Farakhan, Jesse Jackson, etc get slated? I call it the ‘Ice Cube’ effect. My opinion is that the worse thing that happened to Ice Cube is that he did not die a sensational death right after dropping the last bar on Lethal Injection. If he did he would get Tupac & Biggie-like reverence now. Same thing as Sharpton et al, people don’t revere them simply because they didn’t die. They lived to let their opinions and thoughts evolve and revolve. They lived long enough to see change render them less relevant than they were. They lived long enough to need economically. And emotionally. Politically and spiritually. These needs at times may have led them astray.

I remember listening to a 1991 Khalid Abdul Mohammed interview with a young Sean Hannity (a few weeks ago- will send you the files if you want them), my friend pointed out that he agrees with some of the stuff Mohammed was saying and he was very knowledgeable but he seemed “racist”. I pointed out that Khalid was pretty much the same person Malcolm X was. The same voice. The same message. Only Malcolm died and was commercialised into something he may or may not have been in the end. Same as King. Same as JFK. If they didn’t we may be calling them all sorts of names today… and we’d be wiping our bottoms with the memory of their hard work and sacrifices.

Just my thoughts… whether right or wrong…

  12. Al Sharpton has been pandering anywhere he can on any issue for any money he can get for 30 years now. You ever wonder why all these slick talking preachers continue to be activisits, in the public eye & speak on anything? They don’t get taxed on their income. It’s all free cash, fellas.

But, in terms of Reverend Wright, I had a sense that he has come forward & presented more of his “controversial” views in order to let Obama off the hook. Obama didn’t want to disassociate himself with him Wright, but Wright gave him an out. Neither Obama or the Clinton camps “adversaries” have not done the candidates any favors. This whole Democratic race needs to be over.

Cause at the end of the day it was the media who took a preacher’s opinion and view and made it into some big spectacle that the nation (and especially african americans)let split us.
