The Best Moment in Raw History

I don’t expect most people to get this, but this is for everyone who does. This was simply the most real and emotional moment in the history of the business. I loved it up until the end and then I thought–”what a bummer, where are all the heels?”

A second later, Triple H welcomes the rest of the WWE locker room–led by Edge, Randy Orton, and the Big Show. Characters were completely thrown to the side as we saw the reality of the wrestling business—the love, honor, and respect that is the core of wrestling.

  1. I just finished watching the whole farewell ceremony on YouTube before I came over here. I wasn’t home last night so I didn’t catch it. I’m not gonna lie, I got a little choked up over here watching this. Even if Ric Flair wasn’t one of your favorite wrestlers, u gotta respect the work ethic, dedication and charisma he brought to the sport, to say the very least.

    Two things…

    1) What was Triple H tryin’ to say on the low about the matching watches? I guess they were gifts from McMahon, huh?

    2) Did anyone peep Cena’s tee? HOT FIRE. If you didn’t own Pro Wrestling on Nintendo (the 8-bit system), then it’s gonna totally go over ur head.

  3. soemthing told me to stay up last night. i’m glad i did. it was mad touching to see ric flair damn near breaking down every 5 minutes. i got a chill when the horsemen came out. i felt bad and good for him at the same time.

word is the watches shawn & ric had the following on them:

ric’s said “to be the man” and shawn’s said “you have to beat the man”.

i thought that was dope. end of an era…

  12. Sorry that youtube jerked it (pause), PMD.

But I’ll sum it up for you. In the first vid, Taker comes out in character, takes off his trench and his hat, then gives Ric a huge hug. He then drops to one knee and does his “dim the lights” gimmick. After that, Vince comes down to the ring and gives Ric the biggest hug out of all of the participants in the event. He then raises Ric’s hand “referee style” to a huge pop from the fans.

The last thing that happens, is Ric throws his jacket on the floor, does the “Flair strut” around it and then proceeds to give it a knee drop and an elbow drop. The fans went crazy! He then exits the ring and the superstars part to the sides and bow to him as he ascends the ramp. He slowly turns around to acknowledge the fans one more time as they chant,” Thank you, Ric” over and over.

    It was epic.

Shawn Michaels gave Ric a Rolex that matches his own as a Hall of Fame induction gift.

  16. All the fancam stuff is here: http://rapidshare.com/files/104394860/WWE_Raw_Ric_Flair_Appreciation_Night_Off_Air.avi.html but it’ll be sweet to own when they release it on either the mania or next flair dvd. I thought it was great that they gave a solo entrance to Greg The Hammer as probably not many WWE fans know their history. Sad Piper wasn’t there, but maybe he’s still not 100%.
