I know this shouldn’t be surprising because Bob Johnson (the man who made BET the mess that it is and always has been) has probably done more to stunt the growth of black people in America than anyone I can think of, but I’m still surprised. Here is good ol’ Bob implying that Barack Obama had a serious drug problem and saying that he would prefer Obama be a “Sidney Portier in ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’ type”. I’m telling you–the people who never gave a shit about black people in the first place are really stepping up. Thank you, Bob!
This is a perfect example that one black man shouldn’t speak on behalf of other black people. Bob (’I am single now”) Johnson should worry more about how some of us black people feel about him selling out to Viacom and letting them coon up BET. BET used to stand for something with shows like Teen Summit, Tavis Smily, & Bet News.
