rosenberg act like 50 was in fact not LAZY on the Curtis record. He wasn’t comfortable, he was lazy. Meanwhile Kanye was passionate and the difference shows. Kanye’s 3rd is the best of his career and 50’s 3rd is clearly the worst of his career.
Curtis is not even an album thats like, oh this is a bad album for 50 cent who has put out good albums consistently. It is just plain a bad album.
PMD, your embracing of this record is wild to me. Not that I’m a huge fan of either album, but 50 didn’t put in any work on this album. Saying he didn’t reach out to the pop fans for this album is a lie. Robin Thicke & Justin Timberlake = pop, son. The beats still bang though. BTW, he kinda sonned you on the end, but good interview nonetheless. You didn’t cater to him (pause).
50 was lazy on his album witch is why his sales weren’t as good as Kanye’s. I think 50 thought he could just put out any old shit and we all would run out and buy it. My main problem with 50 is he hasn’t grown at all musically or lyrically the first album isn’t that different from the last so the fans got tired of the same old shit. Kanye on the other hand his 3 albums are very different whether or not you feel his style he always comes with something new, if he wanted to he could have been lazy just like 50 and looped up some soul samples and served it to us and he probably would have had just an ok carrier but he he takes the time to craft his shit and give us a different look. This is what keeps him from sounding stagnant like 50 and others.
Would it be hypocritical for me to say that I now totally feel Graduation is a MUCH better album than Curtis?? I summed it up on the show last week. 50 is a way cooler guy than Kanye, but Kanye’s record is MUCH better…
Rosenberg, it seems you partially judge albums/artists based off of irrelevant factors. Just an observation.
For instance you said you’re sick of Little Wayne because white hipster douches love the guy. IMHO I think Wayne is mediocre. However, if you like the guy’s music, some hipster douche’s opinion shouldn’t change that.
Similarly, you’re saying you’re sick of Kanye because of his bitchmade interviews & crying about MTV Awards. Again, what does that have to do with his albums per se. IMHO Kanye’s makes good albums, I don’t really care about his bitchmade off-wax behavior, it doesn’t effect me.
rosenberg i feel like you flip flop all the time and really jock people that you interview. but whatever dude you still have an awesome radio show and a booming youtube career.
i just wish you would have been like, 50 you sounded lazy but i understand that you dont want to risk your career over some old bullshit. curtis is a turd sammich altho i feel some of the tracks heavy. keep up the good work peter.
Well you kept saying it was a terrible interview, but I’ve seen much worse. He did carry you at the end, but its better he did that than to smack you in the face. I respect 50’s business savvy …his lyrics on the other hand not so much.

Man, I’m really gonna have to listen to Curtis again. I obviously must have had something stuck in my ear when I listen, because that shit sucked.
