Benoit’s Death is No Angle

Chris Benoit
1967-2007

Chris and Eddie should not have been reunited for a long long time…..
I am pretty much speechless about the murder of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and his son, Daniel. No one knows what happened yet, but regardless of anything, the level of this tragedy is so great that it is almost impossible for wrestling fans to digest.
I don’t know everything there is to know about this business and I have never wrestled myself, but I do know the respect and honor that Chris Benoit held with his peers and the fans. He was arguably the greatest technical wrestler of all time and he did so much more than entertain.
Chris Benoit was the guy who wanted to see other young wrestlers grow and develop into stars. Most recently, he did this with the increasingly great MVP. MVP may have been the last, but he was certainly not the first. I didn’t know Chris Benoit or ever get to interview him. Bret Hart told me how strongly he felt about him. I know how strongly all the greats felt about him.
Tonight on a Raw that was scheduled to focus on the “death” of Mr. McMahon, something that has never been done to my knowledge occurred. Vince McMahon went on camera in an empty arena to explain that he was breaking character to pay tribute to Chris Benoit. Breaking character in wrestling is the ultimate no-no and no one understands that more than Vince McMahon. It is a testament to Chris Benoit that Vince McMahon himself broke and destroyed a storyline to pay tribute. It was the most touching and sincere moment I have ever seen in wrestling.
Rest in Peace Chris, Nancy, and Daniel Benoit.

I know it might sound sick but I sincerely hope he was murdered when all the smoke clears and he didn’t murder his wife and kid in a murder/suicide because that puts the nail in the coffin into any remorse i have for the guy’s passing. Maybe if it was just him and wifey, but not his kid.

I’m hearing the reports coming out now…and i just hope there arent true. I know we dont know these wrestlers and we believe that they could NEVER do things like that but….I really dont know man. I’m speechless. Beniot was without question one of the greatest. As a teacher and as a performer, he will be greatly missed

Pete isnt the only one who jumped the gun in tribute to the guy, hell, WWE broke off programming and McMahon broke his storyline to pay tribute to the guy, i just hope it doesnt backfire on ‘em.

regardless of what happened in this horrible incident..his life before it does not change in my eyes..the saddest part about this IS that he was a good guy who absolutely went on a drug induced rage..if im wrong and if hes a lifelong murderer–then ill change my tune

peter…u trippin like shit…you are essentially saying that having 2 bodies on your hands is acceptable to you, but not if it was 10 bodies…what the hell is wrong with you????? i mean a GOOD GUY KILLS HIS KID?>> GTFOH. So if i get hopped up on roids and kill a few family members, the homicide is justifiable???
