An Appropriate Celebration

I wrote on Monday that I thought Golden State’s celebration after going up 3-1 on Dallas was a bit premature. I standy by that. That said–tonight’s celebration was completely warranted. This is a great team with a mix of talent and styles, and Don Nelson at the helm. Their fans are frenzied. It feels like Wrestlemania 3 at every game. When you think about it–this series was Hogan-Giantesque. Now picture Dirk in that Andre one piece.
The Warriors are clearly becoming the Saints of the NBA. I didn’t know we even felt bad for the Bay area. Either way–this team deserves it. The best thing about this story is that it really solidifies how great the Western Conference is–and how good the NBA is for that matter. This is an 8th seed that could easily end up in the Conference Finals and matches up really well against Phoenix. San Antonio would be a problem, but the Spurs will have their hands full with Phoenix. Wait–next week you’ve got Phoenix-San Antonio. God I love the NBA playoffs.
Sidenotes….
If the Chuckster bets like he predicts, he has a worse gambling problem than Tony Soprano.
What’s the solution for a talented looney-toon like Stephen Jackson?? A team like the Warriors. His talent will be so appreciated in Oakland that it could push him down the straight and narrow. Maybe.
