AI and Carmelo May Not Win the Championship this Year, but they could kick ass at The Source Awards

Oh David Stern…You know you done fucked up right?? No—no…I mean—you know you done fucked up right?? I know you didn’t let AI get traded to Denver?!?! I mean this is a league that has banned everything from Sidekick 3s to having black friends attend games and you’re letting The Answer and Stop Snitchin’ occupy the same space at the same time?! I can’t wait. How is David Stern going to explain this to all of his scared season ticket holders who are terrified of another brawl happening?! I wonder if he is going to add cornrows to the list of no-nos this off season.

In all seriousness, I’m pretty bummed about this trade as a Celtics fan and east coaster who really has no interest in the nuggets (haha duuude—they’re called the Nuggggggets), but from an unbiased fan standpoint—wawa weewa! AI and Carmelo are the number one and two scorers in the league and they both play with an intensity that is almost unmatched (of course KG is excluded here). They are also two of the only US players who care about performing well internationally (though AI was snubbed last summer–that thug appeal did him in). Most importantly, though–there are two things that I am really looking forward to about this trade.

Number 1– A Suns-Nuggets playoff series! Are you kidding me? Seven games of Nash-Iverson. This will be one of the best 14 day periods of my life if it happens. There’s nothing better than playoff games with over/unders in the 230 point range and endless intensity every night.

Number 2- Wizards-Nuggets games in DC. For anyone who lives in this area–you know when AI comes to town it’s on and poppin. It is becoming that way when Melo comes to town too (he’s from Baltimore–about 40 minutes away). So can you imagine how off the chain it’s gonna be when Melo and AI both come to town?! Between those two and Gil Arenas–you have 120 points and one of the illest after parties this league has ever seen.
